A Brief History of the Parish

​With a view to attend adequately to the Spiritual needs of the large number of faithful in the territory of St. Thomas Parish, Mairang, the territory of the said Parish was divided and thus a new Parish was erected on 17th March 2013 dedicated to St. Dominic Savio. The Bishop under whom the Parish was established was Rt. Rev. Victor Lyngdoh DD the then bishop of Nongstoin. Fr. Anselm Nonglang was appointed as its first Parish Priest. The Catholics belong to the Khasi community.
